Hey everyone, welcome to today’s Feel Better Letter.
This is Matt.
Today, I want to talk about the idea of uncertainty — and why uncertainty or certainty isn’t actually the real issue when it comes to OCD and anxiety.
When we’re overloaded with fear, when we’re seeing everything through the lens of fear or dominated by that emotion, the mind feels the need to come up with an explanation. It tries to justify why we’re in that state.
That’s where projection comes in.
We project fear onto a topic, theme, or idea. Then we chase certainty around that theme, believing that if we can just know for sure, the fear will resolve.
But when you’re endlessly pursuing certainty — I need to know this, I need to know that — that’s not actually what you want.
Let me make the case for that.
Imagine I give you two options:
Option 1:
I give you 100% certainty about your fear or your theme. Absolute clarity. You’ll know the exact answer with complete confidence.
But — you have to feel the way you feel right now, forever.
Do you really want that?
Option 2:
I teach you how to transcend the emotion of fear and shift your entire state.
You move into trust, acceptance, stillness, peace.
And from that place, you look at your theme with a completely different perspective.
Will you have the “perfect answer”? No.
But your state will be exactly where you want it to be.
Which one do you actually want?
The illusion that uncertainty is the cause of fear keeps you searching, chasing, checking, and suffering. It keeps you stuck.
Until you understand the idea of shifting consciousness — and actually work on shifting your state — you’ll keep projecting fear onto new themes over and over. You’ll believe peace is hidden in some answer outside of you.
But the truth is:
You live with uncertainty all day long.
No one is certain the sun will rise tomorrow.
No one is certain they’ll wake up tomorrow.
We can’t be.
And yet we move through life anyway.
Certainty has never been the source of your peace.
The real cause of the distress you’re experiencing is fear. And until you learn how to transcend fear, you’ll unconsciously project it onto different themes and keep searching for certainty, believing it will resolve the fear — but it never will.
The pursuit of certainty is an illusion.
And if you stay on that path, it can only keep you stuck.
If this makes sense to you — if that endless pursuit no longer feels right — I invite you to apply for TBC and walk the path of transcending fear.
Because that’s where real freedom lives.
With that, I hope you all have a great week and a great day.
Looking forward to seeing you soon.
